Probe Industries
lol, well atleast you cleared that up. I hear good things about scat from time to time, but not enough to defend them, and I have no personal experience with them either.
lol yeah i had so much goin on i wasnt even thinking about that hahaha but i will say this if your going to go with a cheaper crank eagle is the way to go scats are junk no offence to whoever likes them but you have to have them machined as soon as you take em out of the box they have little spurs on them and are made very very cheap so stay away from them if i can find a way to put a pic on here i got a good 406 plan out which i used probe pistons in...

I am curious as to how much personal experience you have with engine parts(measuring, machining, assembling) to have come to these conclusions as every other engine machinist that I know would choose Scat over Eagle in a heart-beat...

I have to disagree with you, I have found the exact opposite to be true - Eagle parts need work out of the box and have poor surface quality, documented problems with the thrust face specifically leading to bearing failure. Scat on the other hand have a much lower occurrence of problems with quality out of the box, the forging quality of the Scat is also superior with stronger throw sections without overall added weight compared to the eagle.

ok let me add one more thing either one you go with could cost you more in the long run i myself never use either one i use callies they are in the best in my opinion and last longer than any eagle or scat...
in other words you build a cheap engine (with cheap parts) expect problems! you build an expensive engine (with high end parts) your better off i tell people all the time you dont want to throw your money away on cheap parts even if it takes you longer to build it its best to do it the right way the first time then the wrong way the first time and end up spending more money

my machinist wont use eagle if he can help it either. scat is cheaper then callies etc but its always been good. they also make cranks for oem manufacturers like gm etc. and they have a billet line of cranks that have made homes in 1500+hp cars for years. as far as cranks go id use a scat or if it was a high end build id use a callies crank. never heard anything bad about either.
you get what you pay for,but there are so many good parts out there that you can use, i use to love keith black pistons, i thought they were the best bar none, but their not JE and probe i have had better luck with opposed to SRP ,keith black, speed pro. But im not saying they are junk either its all in what your using it in.....also lunati and ross make a hell of a piston anyone used them??

did you think before you made this post? Compstar and Callies has one of the best reputations in the business, and everyone agrees.
