Pro 5.0 install

Just got my first mod today!
Pro 5.0 shifter with SLP **** and TByrne skip shift eliminator.

The install instructions that came with the shifter are extremely lame.

Anyone have a link to a good step by step guide to this install?
I'm no mechanic, and I need more info than the lame hand drawn pics that came with it.

Thanks

Don't use the paper gasket like they say. I did and it was a mess. Just use sealant and it will seal fine. The paper gasket really doesn't reduce the sound that much despite what the webpage says.

hey bro i would return that skip shift eliminator you paid a hard earned 30 $ for and got to radio shack and do the job yourself. I cost about 50 cents and all you need is a simple resistor and electrical tape. If you have any questions about doing the job Page me and ill help ya. Its seriously the easiest mod you can do to your car!

Laymaster: That's a great guide! Good job on it.

The install is really easy. I got a Ripper, mostly because of the 70$ price tag, but the process is the same. IMO, best mod for 6 spd cars. Easily.

I used to grind my gears at least once I week with my stock shifter. After installing the Pro 5.0 I have only grinded once is the last year.

I just have a couple suggestions since you are new to modding. Most basic bolt-on mods don't have to be by the book installs. Use your judgement. Also, check this web page out and see if you are interested...

http://www.angelfire.com/fl/lscamaross/

It's a short stick made specifically for the pro 5.0. I have a B&M but my friend has the Pro 5.0 with a LS short stick on his and that thing is so short it's like playing a video game. Really nice pieces too. It depends on how you like your shifting.

Good luck.

EDIT: As for the vibrations with the pro 5.0, a few people have had success using an old mouse pad as a damper. I'm sure somebody will be kind enough to post the website.
