I have a set of heads I want ported and polished and new 2.02/1.60 valves put in. How much does a shop usually charge for something like this to be done ? Does anyone know of a reputable shop to do this thats close to denver. These are LT1 heads off a 97 Z28 . We just need the porting done and the valves cut to the appropriate sizes . What kind of time frame do you need these done by?

 

with no valve train it will probably be in the 800-1000 range for a fully ported set. your best bet would be to contact different people like lloyd elliot, or advanced inductions, or others. there's probably 9 companies i emailed and called to get estimates for my car. do a search for head porting on all the f-body sites

 

You might want to first talk to a few porters and find out what size valve you should use rather than ASSuming you have to go big as possible. Also you have the least desirable castings for porting.
