Pre-soaking lifters???
Oil treatment is just a thicker oil, not a assembly lube
ASsembly lube is thicker like grease, and breaks down when mixed with oil. It is best to use assembly lube and dino oil on a break in, and sock the lifters in dino oil as well. You can also pumpl the lifters using an oil gun on the holes in the side of the lifter.

I have done alot of research on installing the cam and alot of guys use stp oil treatment as assembly lube for the roller cams...that shouldn't be a problem, but my questions was about the lifters...would it be okay to soak the lifters in the same stuff?

The reason I was asking is because I have so much of the stp oil treatment left and I thought maybe I could use that and not waste it...would it hurt to soak them in the oil treatment since it is so much thicker than regular oil?
I don't know about soaking them in STP. I think it would be easier and quicker to use a hand pump oil can to squirt some regular 30w oil into the lifter (via the small oil hole on the bore side) until it comes out the top. Each only takes a few seconds to do.
