The power of a tune up

Just changed my plugs to ngk tr6s and some MSD wires.
before i did this i would have a realy bad stumble at low rpms, and it would sometimes miss at higher RPMS, especialy while cruzin at 5-10 mph zones, my car would lunge forward and back, like i was a rookie stick driver, after the change, i can cruz at 3 mph as smooth as butter. i also feel a little smoother while smashing the throddle.
point of the thread, is dont forget about the little stuff, it can make a big diffrence in the long run.

Very true, not to mention LT1s for whatever reason are super sensitive to ignition problems.

How difficult of a job is it on the LT1? I'm planning a spark plug change sometime soon, myself, and would like to know how it all went for you.

First time I changed plugs and wires on my car it was stock with everything on it.
It took me 2 days.
Now I have LTs and AC delete and no emissions and I can change the plugs in about 30 minutes taking my time.

damn right!, when i bought my car it ran like crap (15.03@86.7mph)
since i changed the plugs, and wires it ran a 14.00 @95, and i missed my gear, i was traping at 101mph usualy, so i think it would have done a below 13.9, since then i have been bringing it up to tune, and it runs much better

i remember when it would sputter from 3.5k-5.9k rpm
it was like i was hitting a rev limiter at 4. it wouldnt rev any higher than 4k... now its doin much better

>> the little stuff...?

Nice point...I wish more people would listen.

I imagine few people here can claim to be familar with the phrase 'Preventative maintenance' - The idea of replacing the part at a set interval, assuring that it _never_ gets a chance to fail, escapes the majority of car owners. Reading the last 20 pages of your owner's manual works wonders...but I digress...

I'm glad you found the root of your problem. It's satifying to know you've finally traced down something that's been bugging you like an unscratched itch

Just make sure you do most of it from the bottom. If worse comes to worse remove the Y-pipe. Took me like an hour the first time.

easiest way to do is , is remove the alternator, and put it on ramps, took me about 1.5 days to do it and it was my first time, would have taken me less but i had work.

i used the ngk tr6s, these are not the stock replacment, rather a colder plug for nitrous which i am getting very soon stock plug is the tr55
