Power Surge Elec.system Re Alternator

Put 120 amp smaller alternator in my 95 Z28 in order to
clear aftermarket Billet specialties Valve Covers (short) with the
help of Zoops alternator riser bracket. Alternator had to be shaved a little
but it cleared and now has very nice valve covers. However,

when cold, for very short periods within 10 min. the lights everywhere
surge lightly along with voltmeter, does go away after that and stay
away., but problem when driving at night the surging lights make me look like a cop car. alternator been on only 1 week. Is it because.:
1. Car should have 140 amp, as it did. 2.PCM needs to adjust to the
120 amp. 3. Belt (appears to be OK) OR????

1995 Z28 Red w/Black Ttop; racetronix fuel system; BeCool Rad;
Black magic extreme Fan; removed A/C; Spohn front end; etc.etc.

Sounds like the AIR pump. It'll do that. perhaps more apparent with lower amp alternator.

Thanks for your input, but I do not think so.
The Airpump has been removed few years ago.
