power steering noise

so today i picked up a moroso cold air intake with a vortech elbow and a 3" magnaflow exhaust. the set up sounds great except for this whining noise comming from the engine bay when reved up and it seems to be comming from the power steering pump, is there a way to eliminat the noise or is that how its going to be? i can live with the noise but would be nice to get rid of it

Re: power steering noise

Take off the belt and run the engine for a few minutes and see if the noise goes away. That will help you to determine if the noise is from any of the accessories.

Re: power steering noise

What Ram Air said. Plus spin the alternator and the tensioner pulley. Ive worn out two tensioner pulleys on my truck and once right before the alternator went it got very loud and I could have swore it was the power steering pump.. look for flat spots on any of the pulleys(and free play) especially tensioner pulley. Look over your belt too. You dont want something to freeze up and take out the belt because it can get pretty wicked whipping around.
