Power steering help...

Does a failing power steering pump bleed off fluid? I am losing fluid for some reason and it is not the hoses... And how hard are they to change?

The pump shouldn't bleed off fluid, even if it's bad.(normally, the pump will get very loud if it is bad and give a whining sound) I would check for leaks at the hose interfaces and the pump drive shaft seal, and the steering gear boots on the ends and the steering gear input shaft.

I'm guessing that the fluid is leaking from somewhere.

I'm not sure where mine leaks from but it shoots fluid all over the front of my engine bay.

leaking fluid could be in the boots.
