power steering

i just put a power steering pump in on a 1997 z28 old one was fried all connections are good no leaks but i know have no power steering any help would be great

how do i bleed the ps system on 97 camaro stock lt1

is that why my steering wheel is so hard to turn cause it needs bled?

i did the bleed but still really stiff in my wheel do i just need to keep bleeding till smooth

You don't give any background on your situation, but is it possible your pump "fried" because there was something wrong with the rack or linkage?

my power steering pump sprayed fluid everywhere so i just replaced it. the system was bone dry i have no air bubbles and no leaks but still very stiff after the bleed im sorry post was so bland im just very frustrated .. before i replaced old pump my steering was no where near this stiff with old ps pump on still new pump makes no noises or anything ... maybe i still have air in the system?

Air usually causes noise. IDK, it might cause poor performance, too. OTOH, the new pump might not be any good.

is it possible with it being so dry in the system it make take a minute to recirculated

If the levels are correct, there should not be any places without fluid.

ok while bleeding the ps system should the level get higher in the resevior at either lock position with the wheels off the ground enigine off

I don't have that answer.

I wish some power steering expert would chime in, LOL. Maybe there aren't any. I'm not it.

Try this. Fill the reservoir, and turn the wheel to lock in both directions. Hold the wheel when it stops, to let the pressure valve open. Do this a few times, then shut off the car. After the car sits for a few minutes, like an hour or so, the system should be free of air.

If this doesn't fix it, there's something else wrong.
