Power Steering?

For the last few months when I would do a slow sharp turn, say under 25 mph and usually making a U-turn, my car would make a WHIIRRRRR noise. Sorry I'm not sure how else to explain the noise. Now it does it just about every time I turn instead of just a little bit as it used to. Does this sound like power steering problems?
Thanks
Bill

P.S. I guess the noise kinda sounds like when you plug in a fan but the blades dont turn so you just hear the motor winding up.

Have you checked your power steering fluid?

Yea I thought about that yesterday and it was barely low at all so i added some. But no affect apparently. Today i was driving for about 45 mins before I noticed it. It seems to be coming from the rear or rear end of the car. Thats what it sounds like anyways. So at first i thought it was the weight being thrown to one side when i turn and maybe moving something around there.....but it does it even when i turn in my driveway at like 2mph. Any ideas??

Maybe when it got low it put some air into the rack? Try bleeding the system.

Well i just found another post that sounded liek the same problem i had. Some people suggested it was the rear end and it needed to get the fluid changed maybe and that it was the posi unit making noise becuase when you turn the 2 rear wheels spin at different speeds. Anyways it sounded good to me, so ill probably go out in a few days and figure out how to change it.
