Is it ok to powdercoat the block after it has been assembled? Will high temp be strong enough to take the heat?

 

You can't powder coat it after the engine has been assembled. You can however just use automotive based paint. I used Dupont base/clear on the 400 in my 69 and years later it looked perfect with only a little bit of flaking around the exhaust ports.
