Unhappy post-delteq install .. could leaving opti plug wire holes open quicken opti-death?

Well, this is just a gues but...

I just realized that i accidentally left the optispark plug wire holes open/uncovered after the delteq install. I was so busy with other things that i overlooked this. I have driven in the rain/puddles a number of times since the delteq install. Could leaving these holes open allow extra moisture, water, dirt/debris into the opti and cause the optical sensor to prematurely fail? If so, i don't mind doing another opti just so long as i get something to cap off those holes with or help shield the opti better.... prolly get a new waterpump while i'm at it lol

any ideas?

edit: also, its been about 2 months since the delteq install ... give or take a week or two

I've had mine uncovered for like almost a year probably, and no problems yet. I did look at getting vacuum caps for all 9 plug holes... i dont remember the size off hand but it was EXTREMELY hard to find them, i mean i had to go to like a bazillion different auto parts stores to get 9. But the only bad thing is vacuum caps crack and split quickly so they may not even serve their purpose for long on the plug holes.

Mine's been pushing 7,000+ rpm for about 5 years now, with no wires in the Opti terminals.

theres no current going through that side of the opti anymore, so its irrelevant. unless if you left your coil plugged into your opti, and somehow your coil is still getting juice. but then youd have to video tape it, would probably look like someone let off a string of bricks infront of your motor at night

The high-voltage wiring holes are sealed, only electrons can flow through.
