Label and organize EVERYTHING...it makes things a ton easier when you go back to install. After 3 months away all the bolts and sensors start to look the same.

Im in the middle of a swap right now and have about a half roll of masking tape in there right now. ....but itll take me no time to get everything back together.

If it was me & it's not, I'd sell the LT-1 & put in a BIG block. A 454 would be nice & a 502 better. The front motor mounts are the SAME. Me ? Looking forward to this swap next winter & will have plenty of pictures. Anyone one done this ??

And I am wondering how you are going to get the big block to clear the shock towers?

Anyway back to the topic, take your time and dont cut any corners, it may take longer but it will look or perform better.

It takes less than 2 hours to drop the entire engine/tranny/k-member assembly out the bottom of the car instead of pulling it out through the top. Alot less work involved too. However you'll need a shop lift to do it thisway.
