Is it possible to take the heads off in the car?

Is it possible to take the heads off in the car?

Or should I pull the engine?

i have swapped heads once, I thought it was easily done in the car. might want to take the hood off for more head room.

Its very possible. It just might not look that way initially because there is so much stuff all on top of each other. My friends and I did heads/cam/rockers on his LS1 and all we did was pop out the radiator/ fans and some other junk in the way, but still got it all in without taking out the motor.

Only hard part is if you have longtubes and are trying to pull the heads without completely pulling the header out of the engine bay (ie, still laying up beside the motor)
