possible power?
possible power?
if building up a new lt1 4 bolt block, how much power is possible?
i know a major variable is how much money is spent, but just curious if an lt1 can be built with comparable power to an ls1 motor???
thanks

Re: possible power?
I've seen a stock 4-bolt LT1 block (with upgraded caps) with no fill, make 1,125 flywheel HP on a blown 383 running 20+ # of boost. And it ran that way for a couple years with no problems.

Wow that is impressive!
Re: possible power?
ok, 1125hp is a little more than i am looking for!!
i would like 500-600 when all is said and done. and i know that means building a new motor from the ground up. and actually, that is better because i can still drive the car while i'm building the motor!!
so how much money, ballpark estimates, to get that much power??
thanks
