possible opti issue ???

I have a 97 Z with a LT1, vented opti. I am having issues when it rains the car starts to miss and flashes a random misfire code. Code will clear itself. The opti is not even a year old and when there is no rain it runs perfectly fine.

Could be the plug wires breaking down when it's wet.

I thought of that. Looked for an ark, still looking. Is possible for moisture to get into the vent tube??? Does anybody know where I can get a set of over the valve cover wires and wire loom kit? or would this have to be costume made?

You don't want OTVC wires if you don't have headers. The opti vent system should not be bothered by moisture. Try spraying some mist on your plug wires.

Re: possible opti issue ???

In addition to suggestions so far, check the plug wires and coil wire ends for corrosion. Check the the Opti for excessive sludge buildup. Look for things that can retain moisture. It's not the vent, unless you don't have the blue elbow for the Opti vent supply line plugged into the intake elbow.

You can also use a scan tool with "GM Enhanced Parameters" to pull up the misfire count by individual cylinder, which may point you to the problem.

You might want to expand your "Signature" to include major modifications.

Yes, it is nice to know what you have beforehand, so responses can be relevant.
