Possible Dyno #s

I don't have a dyno anywhere near me so I'm trying to do this "stone age" style and try and guess what my dyno numbers will be close to. The reason for my post it that I'm surprised at what my calculations came out to.

I got the car in my sig back and fixed it after t-boning an F-150 a couple years ago. The wreck was so bad that I had to cut the front end off of another car and weld it onto my car.

Anyway, I've done a lot of searching and came up with the following mods and what gains they have given other people under near stock conditions. Courtesy of www.ws6.com for several of the numbers. I rounded off the numbers so they aren't exactly like they are listed on the site. I got the rest of the numbers by searching the forums.

GMMG catback---10rwhp/7rwtq
TPiS LTs w/off-road y-pipe---25rwhp/25rwtq
Hypertech PP+ w/160 thermo---6rwhp/7rwtq
TB air foil---2rwhp/2rwtq
TB bypass---6rwhp/7rwtq
Meziere electric water pump---6rwhp/5rwtq
1LE aluminum driveshaft---1rwhp/5rwtq
MTI CAI w/ram air scoop---15rwhp/15rwtq
Granatelli MAF---3rwhp/3rwtq

Assuming a stock baseline of 260rwhp/295rwtq, these mods should give me approximately 334rwhp/371rwtq!!!

Unless the mods would not work together like this, I am amazed because I didn't think an LT1 could dyno that high with just bolt-ons. Please let me know what you think.

They don't. And you won't have anywhere near 334 rwhp with those mods listed.

Any guess as to how much I might get then? Dang I had my hopes up that I could out-run an LS1. Oh well.

Re: Possible Dyno #s

best way is ussually read your highest AFGS from your MAF & multiply that by 1.1 to get your RWHP numbers, pretty accurate if the A/F & timing is all nice

Manufactures get their figures by testing a stock vehicle with and with out their part. As you add more parts mods can get more or less effective. I too would guess your around 300RWHP assuming you were making full power in the first place.

You would need ported heads and a mild cam to dyno around 335RWHP, or at least a big cam and LT headers.

Re: Possible Dyno #s

substitute the GMMG for a nice cam and a cutout and youll be closer to the numbers you listed

The 330 range is about where I probably am (on a dynojet) and i am a full bolt on hotcammed car... You went wrong with thinking that a MAF and Air Foil give you anything, and you are a little off on some numbers... but hey, its different for every car. I was lucky enough for a dyno to come to my little town of Pflugerville, Texas pop 24,000, and a guy who can tune the **** out of LT1's came with it!

Off topic, but you do realize that your car is a deathtrap welding the front end off another car onto yours right? It has no strength whatsoever.
