Possible broken lifters?

I have a real audible clacking sound from my valvetrain somewhere, it sounds like a really loose rocker. My exhaust is so loud that the video camera cant pick the clacking over the exhaust but you can defiantly hear it.

I was curious if a broken lifter could cause this sound? I have comp R lifters with about 2k miles on them. I adjusted my rockers once since the rebuild and it sounds like either one or possibly 2 backed off really badly or one of my lifters is broken causing it to make this sound. I have since parked the car and it has been sitting ever since. I was going to wait until summer to look at the valve covers and the intake, but its bugging me and I dont want comp to deny me because I have had the lifters to long if the lifters are the case.

Thanks for the insight.

Re: Possible broken lifters?

Ok, I like yourself was in denial for many months, figured the noise was normal, reset lash to help a few times but always wondered if all the threads about Comp R's were true. I just couldn't bring myself to pulling a nicely sealed intake, especially since it used to leak so bad. Well, my "mod bug" came back and I bought a 58mm TB and ported intake. Actually felt relieved, I would finally resolve my "lifter fear." Pulled the intake last weekend and below is what I found:
Good Comp R BAD Comp R

I have 3 bad lifters, as you can see the retaining clips are gone . So, now I'm a believer, hopefully Comp will help me out with replacements. Overall, I've been real happy with Comp's products, just appears these lifters have some issues... Perhaps your's will be ok, probably worth the effort to check them out.

What lifters are you switching to?? If I pull the intake I am switching to a Jr.Victor setup.
