Ported Oil Pump?

I'm doing my heads and came this summer. I'm getting a new stall, injectors, timing chain, '95 opti conversion, and all new valve train components. I have been saving my money for a while and sould have it all when summer comes. I want to make sure I have everything ready when I do this. I read somewhere that having a ported oil pump is better and that you should switch to one when doing heads and came. Is this true and if so where can I buy one.

Thanks for the help.
Jon

Ported oil pump

I know you can do it with LS1's. But I wasn't sure about LT1's.

Nevermind, it is only for LS1 oil pumps. Thunderracing sells modified oil pumps for the LS1. I thought it was something that could have been done to the LT1 oil pumps.
