ported lt4 heads and WHAT CAM?????

Ok, what i thinki will do is put on the ported lt4 heads and intake, but i dont know what to run as far as a cam right now. What cam would make the best power with this set up on my car. Looking for really good track time plus great rwhp. I thought the hot cam would go good, but guessed wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx
Dan

GM 847 will give 400+ rwhp assuming you have a well running car and a decent head porter

GM part = 12370847 .

Yes, thats on the stock bottom end, expect to sping some high rpms to put down the power however. There are only 4 or 5 of us running it on this board, but we are all putting down some very nice numbers

Also forgot to mention, that is still a very streetable cam. If you are going all out, solid roller will make more power, but i would never run one on a mostly street car.

Just wondering, how does the GM 847 compare to the CC 306?

I would go with the CC306, the Comp Cam 224/230 XE, or the Comp Cam 230/236 cam. If you want hp and streetablilty go with one of these. The 230/236 and cc306 are very agressive cams that are known to lay down some hp.

CC306 GM 847

j/k

GM847 has higher lift the the CC306, but they are pretty close i suppose. Pretty much putting down same times.

My time in the sig is with a Cc306, stock waterpump, stock tb, stock heads. Car made 348rwhp and 344rwtq.

the 306 = 230/244 .510/.540 (with 1.5) on 112
the 847 = 234/242 .539/.558 (with 1.5) on 112

Those LT4 springs will have your valves toasted within 5 min of initial startup. They arent even close to cutting it.
