Ported heads and unported heads

with the 230/236. 1.6's and my current mods......would I need bigger valves for the cam? TIA. Just seeing if porting is worth it...

Maybe not bigger valves, but definately port the intake and exhaust.

If I decide to go with this cam and not port the heads, what #'s can I expect? Looking for approx #'s before port and possibly after port. Thanks. Reason I ask is because I see alot of guys running nice times and speeds with stock heads and a cam. TIA.

Porting would not be required but it would allow you to get the most power out of the cam. Ideally you should pick a cam based on the flow capabilities of the heads but most people do a cam first then go back and add heads, so they are really getting a cam for heads they don't have yet.

its not ideal, but it'll work. Once you get some porting done bigger valves, again, are not necessary but would allow more flow which is how power is made....its all about airflow.
