About how much does it cost to do a port and polish job a lt1 anyway?

its costing me a grand including having the heads takin off, put back on, and obviously all new gaskets

 

Its easiest to get a package deal.....new valves springs cam and intake.

The porting itself is about a thousand for the heads and intake, then valve job, new valves, springs and hardware......probly a camshaft and tune your looking at $2500

search around......pretty much just 2 people doing the LT1 heads on high volume, the previous one stated and Advance Induction

 

I pulled mine myself and had them rebuilt. It cost $1300 but this was new springs and a valve job also.

It was worth it.

I paid $1500 just to have my heads done, and I did the R&R work.

 

There are lots of good porting choices for lt1s. However, the actually porting is not the bulk of the costs. Supporting mods are necesary for good gains. Plain on 3K or so for a decent head cam upgrade.
