Ok, I'm not a suspension person so what do I need to check? Here are the symptoms. The front left wheel pops when there is a change in momentum of the car like when you first put it rev and start to move it will pop. Then when you shift to drive and start to go it pops. Once it is up to speed it doesn't pop if you break only from a complete stop or a slow roll. Any suggestions?

with 160,000mi, if they haven't already been replaced, i'd say your ball joints are shot in the control arm, and/or the bushings.
we had trouble pressing the bushings into my 94 but it did fix the problem, which sounds similar to yours. if i had to do it again i'd disassemble it and then have a reputable guy with the tools do the pressing. i bought the parts at advance auto parts where they had TRW bushings and ball joints.
oh and if you do this, make sure you get it realigned when you're finished. you're car will feel brand new again.

 

Jack you car up on the side that you are hearing the wheel pop.

See if there is play in the hub. I recently popped a hub at the track and it would really pop bad.

 

Thanks for the replies. The whole front suspension on that side was replaced thanks to a 17 yo girl on a cell phone that was to stupid to tell which side of the road she was supposed to be on. not that I am still bitter about that or anything it was about a year ago less then a month after I bought the car. 7grand and a month later and I had my car back. We did have to use used front suspension parts they seemed fine at the time but I have put about 25000 miles on in the past year
