Popping noise from intake??

Ok, we were driving around a while ago and I noticed that when I accelerated the motor sounded real "windy" noise, kinda like the sound of a bad fan clutch on a truck. So we came home and I noticed when I pushed the throttle linkage there was a popping noise coming from the intake elbw area when it idled down. So I took it all apart and couldnt find anything. I opened up the TB blades and a lillte smoke came out of the intake. Is that normal? It's not running hot and all the gages are normal. I just changed the oil yesterday and filled it up with supreme. Any suggestions?

usualy when you have a pop through the intake you have a pre ignition isuue. you might have some bad gas, possibly a tear in the air intake somewhere, low fuel pressure, bad injector or anything else that can cause a lean condition. or possible a timing issue. if it just started it could just be some bad gas. full up at a different store and see what happens

Brand new delco opti. I haven't been able to make it do it since I got it all tightened back up. No clue. I'll just stay clear of the SAM's gas. The car runs way too good for there to be any problems IMO. I normally try to stick to Chevron. Myabe thats it. I'll check all the plug wires again tomorrow.
