pop corn sounds...

I too have pop corn effects and it reminds me of the older days when emission controls did not exist.

i fixed mine today thanks guys it was all in the ignition
wires burnt
and riped apart by the belt and i put a new coil on it.

AS FAR AS I KNOW, popping is from a leak in the exh system, when you downshift it runs the motor at a higher RPM and that means oxygen is being sucked into the pipes through the leak,therefore igniting the fuel mixture in the pipes. i know it may sound weird that o2 can be getting sucked in when gasses are comming out with pressure but it makes sence to me because i was using a band clamp what was leaking slightly once i got that part welded , no more prob

Would a true dual exhaust system get rid of the popping?

It would obviously be more expensive though...but it would sound soooooooooooooo much cooler!
