Poly Engine Mount Orientation?

Which way is correct?

It looks like position #1 should be correct. However, the instructions are very poor for the LT1 mount (indicating to place the wide tab on the 'wide spaced hole' side).

#1, the tab can cause clearance problems the other way around, though you could make it work either way.

Hey just curious, how do you take out the old mounts and put in the new ones? (which bolts?)

Re: Poly Engine Mount Orientation?

When I did it with the engine in the car, I had to support the motor with a hoist (I'm sure you could use a floor jack) and pull the enitre clamshell mount off. The clamshell assembly is held together with some huge rivits. You have to take a grinder and grind them out to seperate the clamshell. I tried using a drill with an abrasive attachment and ended up purchasing a grinder. After that you just use the supplied hardware and put the new ones back in. BTW, it was a biotch for me to line everything back up. Poly doesn't give near as much as the rubber.
