polishing your own heads

has anyone ported or polished their own heads...

if yes...


did you notice any gains? and how did you do it?

been drinking so sorry if i don't make sence...

Why ruin a good set of head cores?

As Mike Chapman says "The most important part of the head is 1/2" either way of the valve seat"

If you don't know who he is, he did the LS7 design for GM and has done a number of winning heads for guy for the last 30+ years.

Basically a good valve job is going to get you more than most peoples "home porting", polishing on the other hand is the wrong way to go.
