Plugs and Plug Wire Change LT1 FBody
Stock manifolds I'm assuming.....if so, have fun.
Set aside a good amount of time, bring beer and bandaids.
Stock wires have a heat shield on top of them which I would assume is a bear to get off with the stock manifolds on. Thankfully I got headers fairly early in the game and did plugs and wires when I did the swap.
I don't envy you....take your time. Set aside a day (or two if you get frustrated easily) and you shouldn't have a problem.
As far as wire routing goes....just take a good look or a picture of where your wires are now. The opti has numbers on it for which plug wire goes where...to be honest, I can't remember the order on the opti. Just crawl underneath and take a look.
Pointers? Be patient....it will take a while.

I wear rubber gloves to protect my hands from the many cuts you will get. Also, I recommend going to a thrift store and getting some long sleeves.
I've got the Edelbrock TES headers and it is tough. I took the rubber insert out of the spark plug socket and inserted the paper wrap protection typically found in the box of fresh plugs. It helps protect the porcelin (white part) of the plug from cracks.
I also had my girlfriend on the top working the plugs while I was able to assist from the bottom. The team work effort was a success and cut the time by 60%.
As for wires, I installed 8.5mm wires which would not go into the groove on the passenger front around the power steering bracket. So, I had to re-route the wires around the bracket on the inside. To protect the wires, I used the supplied Jacobs wire spacers and black plastic wire looms for each individual wire. No chaffing and good spacing.
It is worth it and it does pull hard.
