plugs

i have a 96 z28 with a lt1 5.7. when changing spark plugs. do you have to remove anything from the engine when you are replacing the spark plugs or can you do it without removing anything

It's easier to just pull the engine.

I know I have to pull the starter (or at least unbolt it and tilt it out of the way) to reach #8. Also, I think having the alternator and the rear brackets (the black arms) out of the way helps. Mine was already removed because I did my plugs when I had the intake manifold off last year to fix the rear leak...

I think the driver's side is alright without really removing anything, but IIRC I also got #7 from underneath.

I'm glad I've only had to do that job once, though now I'm in the middle of changing the wires, which is about as bad... Good luck!
