Please read over my header install part list.....What did I forget?

Making sure I have the right things for the job. I will be installing my AS&M headers here shortly and want to be prepared and not running around looking for tools and parts. Please make additions to my list if need be.

Here is what I have so far:

LT4 Knock module
Felpro 1406 Gaskets
Stage 8 header bolts STG8911
NGK TR55 Plugs
MSD 8mm wires
T-bolt clamp for drivers side slip primary

Here is what I'm not sure on:

Percy's dead soft y-pipe collector gasket? Where to get? What size?
What tools exactly? ( I have access to anything )
Heat sleaves for plug wires? (Were to get them?)

I'm missing things I know. I have done lots or searching in this site and gathered as much info about the actual install that I could but need your help guys.

Thanks to all

Adam

Im not familiar w/the as&m install, but every header install can use some heat wrap available just in case. plus, you'll need zipties to secure the plug wires and harnesses out of the way. dont forget antisieze for the ypipe bolts.
good luck.

The antisieze goes on the header bolts and the spark plugs too. You might need a 12" O2 extension. I did on the driver's side of my MAC's.

You might also want to get some Permatex Ultra Copper RTV

Cool

I would replace the O2 sensors while you have them out.

Thanks to everyone. Are there any specific tools I'll need to have out.

Stock manifold bolts are 9/16", I think the same for the Y-pipe too but they may be 1/2". Umm....I'm kinda tired now, can't remember any other stuff. Nothing special, just have a regular set of sockets/extensions

Whats the part number for these MSD wires? I need the #8 wire to be a bit longer so I understand it doesn't get singed by the headers. Will I have to crimp my own ends on these wires?

Thanks

MSD makes a kit for LT1's. Red p/n 3214-9 Black 32143.

They are precut. And I think there maybe a minor issue with them and AS&M.

I'm open to suggestions. Do you think I should go with another manufacture? I'm looking for easy of install, I imaging I'll have enough fun with the headers themselves.

Just got finished my header install. I posted a nice story about it in this thread.
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=247310

I forgot to mention the night before, I hosed all of my bolts down with PB Blaster. Not a single bolt was hard to remove. Not even those rusty collector bolts.
I opted for the Percy's gaskets and I really like them. Any autozone will order them and the part # for LT1 is on the back of every box in the store. Both stores around here stocked gaskets for every other motor except the LT1.
I also opted for the Stage 8 bolts. Very expensive but adleast they don't back out.
I would not recommend putting antiseize on your header bolts.
If it were steel heads, yes, but not alum. heads.

my LT's will go on soon. Instead of getting heat wrap for the wires I had a member tell me about accel 9000 wires. custom taylored and heat resistant. great looking wires too.
