please help with wires

I have an engine harness from a 94/95 Camaro and there are two places on the harness where it looks as though a plug might have been cut off.
I need help to figure out what the wires control.

Here is a pic of the first place.
http://clarkes96ss.cz28.com/red-green.JPG

Notice in the picture that the two wires are side by side and the colors are red and green. They are next to a group of of two other greens which have shrink wrap on them and one black wire comes out the other end of the shrink wrap.

Here is the second place.

Notice in the picture that the two wire are side by side and the colors are yellow and dark brown. They come out of the plastic sheeth near a gray plug which the center of it is green.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Clarke

I can't tell you exactly what the wires connect to, but I can tell you (on the first pic) where they are in the engine.

The lower left plug in your picture, plugs into the MAP sensor (a couple inches away from the throttle body cover plate -towards the passenger side of the car.

The other 3 from left to right are connectors for IAC, TPS and IAT. (That's my guess at least )

Now. The red wire is supposed to connect to the alternator clip, but I can't help you with the green (and is there a black under the "wierd" shrink-tubing piece below the red wire?)
I can't read schematics for crap, but I think the green and black go to the A/C system.

1st pic:
Yes, the red should go to the alternator plug (cavity "L")
There should be a black and drk green that comes out of the wrapped part that goes to the a/c compressor. The other loose green wire I have not figured out (unless it was cut out from a splice into the other two).

2nd pic:
Should be a yellow and purple wire. They are for the VSS.

Couple other questions...

How can I tell if the harness came from a manual trans car or from an auto trans car? Is there a difference in the harness.

Also, does anyone know where I can buy just the plug ends(alternator, VSS, and AC compressor) for this harness to complete it?

Thanks,
Clarke

This is an A4 harness. An M6 harness will have more connectors on the transmission breakout harness for the skip shift and CAGS solenoids.

Yours looks like an A4 harness by virtue of that second pic.

New pigtails can be purchased at the dealer or where they sell AC-Delco parts. They are not real cheap.

I recently bought the alternator pigtail that you'll need -it's part number 12117361. I got it from GMPartDirect.com and paid about $12 for it plus S&H.

Ok... I got the plugs by the #'s you guys gave me.

However, all three plugs come with all white wires.

I need some help with which wire goes where.

Here are some pics of the plugs I received. Any help would be great.

Here is the AC plug. Notice in the pic below that the plug has a "step" on both "pins" sticking out. In the pic, the "step" is on the bottom of the "pins". I have a red arrow on the left "pin" and need to know which color AC wire goes to which "pin?.
http://clarkes96ss.cz28.com/AC1.JPG

Here is the alternator plug. Notice there are 3 wires coming out of the plug. 1 wire/pin on the harness is larger than the other 2. I know that only one red wire goes to this plug, but which pin/wire does it go to. Also, what do I do with the other 2 wires? I have a red arrow pointing to the larger pin/wire on the plug.

Here is a pic of the VSS plug.
Notice in the pic that the plug has a red arrow pointing to the center of the plug. The arrow points to a "groove" in the plug between the 2 pins of the harness. The other side of this plug does not have this "groove"
The way the plug is laying in the pic, what color wire goes on the left side of the groove?

Your connectors should have letter designations for the cavitites.

A/c
"A"=dark green
"B"=black

Alternator
"L"=red
none of the other wires are needed

VSS
"A"=purple
"B"=yellow

Clarke
