For the past week or so, whenever I am cruising in overdrive at around 1700 RPM's and I get on the gas, the car shudders and vibrates, then accelerates. Not like theres a dead spot, there is something defiently wrong. It feels sorta like it did when my coil went, but it only happens in OD when I'm around the RPM's that the converter locks up (or unlocks) at. My best guest is that the lock-up is going, but I wanted more opinions. I've got 143,xxx miles on it, and I know the plugs and wires need to be changed (Its been around 40,000) but I don't think they're responsible.

I agree, Im thinking tranny as well. Have it check out.

 

My car did that when the opti started going south, problems got worse and worse till i realized it was the opti

 

My first bet would be plug wires.
