please help! LT4 hot cam kit

i posted something last night about this, but wasnt that specific. what modifcations, if any, would i have to make to ANYTHING on my car or change or fine tune with a computer or have done to make my stock LT1 engine, function properly with the LT4 hot cam kit, not the conversion but the cam kit, and having my heads ported. ANY help tips or info are appreciated.

you will probably need a tune (pcmforless madz28), cold air intake and exhaust would be very helpfull as well

You won't HAVE to do anything. It should run fine on the stock tune - my did.

PCM tuning will help enhance your new modifications, though.

How big of a port are you getting done to the heads? Stock valve size or larger? What mods do you have on the car as it sits?

Mine also ran fine on the stock tune right after I did the Hotcam kit. It runs much better and doesn't struggle as much in the low end after being tuned. The only reason it would NEED to be tuned is if you remove emissions with a header install.

After I got mine tuned it really lost the lope that the 112 lsa grind gave the cam. But in the stock tune it sounded like a beast I think if i retuned the idle to 800rpm i'd get it back. its somewhere around 1000rpm now.

One other thing you should do is replace the LT1 knock sensor with the LT4 sensor. This will reduce the amount of timing retard and free up a couple of horses.
