please help have a 94 lt1 caprice

please help have a 94 lt1 caprice

when i try to start it it wont.it tries to but what i notice is that the belt and altanator runs forward when i try to start it,but when i let off it tries to kick in but its running backwards.?why would that happen.the car is trying to start up backwards.somebody please help.

Sounds as though you recently did work to it, perhaps the opti. May be off??? Judging from what you said, it sounds like either compression is rolling it back slightly or it's actually firing at the wrong time. That's why it sounds like the opti is installed wrong. Plug wires swapped might do it also.

Give us some back ground to the problem. Work done, when the problem appeared. Why any work was done.

Make you a signature and put all the particulars of the vehicle there. Update your user info so we can also see what part of the country you are from.

it could only be 3 things.the crankshaft censor,the opti spark or the camshaft censor which is in the opti saprk.he checked the fuel,compression,spark and everything else.so what do you guys think
