Exclamation Please Help!! Car wont Start!!

My Crane HI-6 Ignition went out on me, I unplugged it, hooked the car back up to stock, car ran fine.
Drove home. Parked it, Changed my intake Elbow and decided (stupidly) to change my MAF to the Granetelli (dont ask why) I had sitting on my shelf. My PCM was not set up for the Granetelli tried to start it again, Car hesitated and I shut it down.
I quickly changed the MAF to my stocker again and only stays running when I put the throttle on to keep it alive.
Anything Below 900 RPM .. and It dies.
Seems to be running a little rough also.
I checked the MAF, MAP, plug wires... all sensors that I can see under the hood.. No luck.. Even Reset the ECU. Re-flashed the ECU,tried new and old settings NOTHING.

What is going on??

Any help is greatly Appreciated

Re: Please Help!! Car wont Start!!

Just tried again, swapped MAF's and PCM programs. Nothing. Same condition.
What Could have possibly gotten messed up from swapping a MAF without re-loading the PCM?
That is the only thing I changed.
I am trying to get a hold of Bryan @ Pcm for less... anybody have his E-Mail?

Re: Please Help!! Car wont Start!!

Nevermind. I called Bryan @ PCMforless.... he let me know that if I just unplug the MAF the car will run in speed density.
I unplugged the MAF and the car ran fine. Bad MAF was the culprit.
Lucky for me, I had an extra one.
Funny how I was the only one to post replies... guess my question wasn't as important as " Which cam to get? " or.. " which is better cam#1 or cam#2 ".
I guess I should just take my technical questions to Bryan , he has his $hi# strait.

Actually, you sound a bit like GW: negotiating with himself. I'm sure you would have received responses, but since you kept answering yourself, I guess nobody had a chance.

I do give you credit for letting everyone know the results-too often, this is overlooked and nobody learns anything.

Re: Please Help!! Car wont Start!!

It just baffles me, the kind of questions that get answered. Most questions are typically searchable. I did a search before asking, got some ideas, but felt I had a slightly unique scenario, partly because I did not know of anyone else swapping the MAF for an aftermarket and getting such a bad result.

Car runs now, but not as good. Seems like its not as "peppy", when it cranks in the morning, it chugs a little bit, throws the Check Engine Light, and blows some white smoke. After about 10 min of driving, the check engine light turns off and the idle smoothes out. Then, mysteriously, the check engine light will come on, then off, then on at random... Im thinking its a bad wire somewhere, or its my stock iginition system. It has be raining here in Southern Califorina pretty hard, Maybe something is wet?

Anyone with similar symptoms, or an idea of what could be the cause would be helpful.
Thanks

Why not check and see which codes it's throwing...? Since it's not running right, it's throwing a code, how about you keep driving it and overlook the obvious clues...

Re: Please Help!! Car wont Start!!

The Check Engine light turns off whenever I nail the throttle and take it to about 80mph. Seems like it needs some kind of blowout or hot-lap to bring it back to normal. What would cause this?
