PLEASE HELP!!! can i put black RTV silicone on header to hold in place while install?

PLEASE HELP can i put black RTV on header gasket to hold in place while install?

can i put black RTV silicone on the header gasket and glue itto the header so it stays in place while I install it. i tried sliding it in with the 2 outter bolts and that did not work please help?????

use the kind of rtv that has copper in it, then put it on both sides of the gasket, then. if the bolts stay tight, the gasket will never leak

is that copper RTV for header gaskets?

I've used the copper seal to do this. works fine, and won't leak. A thin layer of grease will work as well.

never mind i think i got it on good dry, anyway whats ther torque specs for header bolts?

I thought you tighten them as much as you can

yup

and keep checking them, check them tommorrow, next week and then the week after that, if they are tight that last time, quick check them every month
