Please HELP...Anyone...

I have a 95Z A4. I rebuilt an LT1 from a 94 Corvette, put a small cam in it and put it in the Camaro. The car runs great but keeps lighting the SES light after running for a few minutes. The code it is throwing is 29 - Secondary Air Injection Pump Circuit. Where do I start to fix this? I don't know much about these computer cars and I've read that this code can be any thing from the EGR to low vacuum somewhere. Can someone PLEASE tell me where to start or what to do with this thing? I need this car to be fixed very bad.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check the AIR pump fuse in the underhood fuse/relay panel. There was a recall several years ago due to AIR pump problems.

Thank you for the response. The fuse was blown. I can't drive the car right now to see if it blows again, but if it does, any idea why? Is there anything that I can do to correct whatever is causing this? Thank you again for your help.

Mine was clogged and caused it to blow over and again.

That was why the recall was done. The AIR pump draws too much current and blows the fuse. If your car has not had the recall done, call a dealership and schedule to have it done. It is free. If you give them your VIN, they can tell you if the work may have already been done.

Condition
General Motors has decided to conduct a Voluntary Emission Campaign involving all 1995, 1996 and 1997 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird model vehicles equipped with 5.7L (RPO LT1-VIN Code P) engines. The Air Injection Reactor (A.I.R.) pump emission control system on these vehicles may fail to operate and cause the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to illuminate. This condition may be due to corrosion of a solenoid internal to the A.I.R. pump.

Correction
Dealers are to install a new A.I.R. pump assembly kit that is designed to protect the A.I.R. pump system from failing due to internal corrosion.

If you don't care about the air pump you can just reach down and unplug it. Then you won't get an SES light anymore as long as your fuse is good.

Thank you again for the responses. I called the local dealer and there is in fact, an open recall on my car. They said to bring it on over...lol.
