Please Help

I got a new set of tires yesterday at dobbs tire and auto they told me I couldnt get a front end alignment because my outer tie rod was loose on the left side of the car. Im going to change it myself and then get the front end aligned someware else because dobbs is closed today. My problem is What side of the car is the left side the driver or passenger side? If I jack the car up will it be obvious which side is bad or do I need a alignment machine to check it? I would call and ask them wich side of the car they consider left but like I said there closed today. Since its a large chain I thought maybe someone on the board worked there and tell me wich side of the car is considered the left side.
Thanks.

Left and right is determined like you are sitting in the driver's seat. LH is driver's side, RH is passenger's side.
