I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE
**UPDATE on the no 12 reply**
Ok i just past the 2 last week(4-6 hours per day) after day work to install all the part that are in my sig.All the suspension/rear end component went very well)
I spend a big load to have the car handle well and brake well. After that i also decide to give the engine a tune up.
I install new:
-MSD Cap and rotor kit
-MSD Blaster coil
-Accel extreme 9000
-ngk tr55 gap at .050
-Power steering pump
-Belt
-Electric water pump
When i try to took the stock cap from the opti ,2 bolts break in.So i took the opti out of the engine and drill the broken bolts and clean the threads and everything went fine.Thats what i was thinking
I put everything back, fill the radiator and start the engine. The engine did a kind of backfire and run at 1000-1200rpm(approx) for a normal warm up.
After the engine warm up the rpm drop to reach the idle speed (750rpm) but now it backfire every 2-3 seconds very constantly(very loud)
Can someone tell me what i ve done wrong. Before my tune up, even with worn plug, old cap/rotor,old wire and coil the was running perfeclty.
Can it be that i ve not re-install my opti correctly?
When remount it back i ve forgot where the rotor was pointing so i install it like i was thinking, could it be the trouble or my car would not even start?
Also could i install my opti and put the cam doll pin in the wrong hole?
Really need your help bad

Re: Please god wake me and nice membre help me...
You probably set the dowel pin off. What I reccomend is getting some lipstick from your girlfriend, Mother, sister, whomever, and apply it on the down pin, then take a black marker, and draw a line on the side of the opti where the cam slot is. That way you can just align the line that you made to where the Dowel pin is., Then test fit, and see where the lipstick has smeared off. It it's correct then the lipstick will be in the dowel pin slot when you remove the opti to check the test fit. Once your sure it's in the proper location slip the optiback on and tighten the bolts. The opti should slip on flush agains the block with ease and no gaps. Then you know it's on right.
Also when you take the opti off, look on the back of it for wear marks, that will show you if you have it missed the optical pin.
also make sure the wires aren't criss crossed. Check them FIRST!!!!!! becasue they will give you the same behavior an off opti will!

And how do i know where the rotor is supposed to point after the re-install of the opti?
I aslo forgot to say that the car smell gas a lot too
Thank you

And my opti fit flush with the block,no gap at all.
Thank you i ll check my wire first and after that loose my time and redo the opti job.

On the back of the opt there is a pattern that looks like a 3 leaf clover with a stem. The stem is where the dowel pin connects into. The Dowel pin, will decide what direction the rotor will be pointed to. As long as you align this slot on the back of the opti up with the cams dowel pin, everything should be correct. As far as the wires being crossed. Follow each wire from spark plug to opti, and make sure that the cylinder plug is going to the matching input connection on the opti.
Re: Please god wake me and nice membre help me...
I agree check your wires its easy to get em mixed up. Also i wouldn't get tr55s at .50. Try gapping them at .35, i think that is were they are supposed to be gapped. The gap could be to wide and not sparking fully causeing it to smell like gas and maybe the occasional backfire.
Re: Please god wake me and nice membre help me...
A TR55 is pregapped to 0.050". If you want less than 0.050", get the TR5 and hand gap it. But I don't see anything in his list in the way of internal mods, so he'd probably be better off with a platinum or iridium plug gapped to 0.050" per specs. That ignition, like the stock ignition should easily fire 0.050, since that's the factory spec.
Check for crossed wires as noted above, make sure you didn't crack a plug or mess the plug gap up when you were installing them. Make sure the plugs are all screwed in all the way, and what you took for being "tight" wasn't just the socket binding in the head. Make sure all the plug wire terminals are firmly on the plugs.... listen/feel for the "snap". Make sure the ends of the plug wires are not corroded where they plug into the Opti (with all that new igntion stuff, why didn't you change the wires?)
Check the harness connector for the Opti. Make sure there is no corrosion on the terminals, and the pins are not bent.
Were you sure to remove all metal particles from the Opti when you drilled the bolts out?
If the Opti was off by a complete hole on the dowel pin, I don't think the only symptom would be a small pop every once in a while. With the timing 120 cam degrees off, it would be a bit worse than that.

Re: Please god wake me and nice membre help me...
And so the rotor position is not improtant as long as my doll pin is in?Right?
But my engine would be really running wrong if the doll pin was not in the good hole.

Ok since im a workahoolic i ve check my probleme this evening and think that i ve found my backfire problem.
I ve check all my plug and wire and everything seems to be good but i also investigate about the smell of gas.I also realise that my engine was shaking a little bit.The fact is that the engine was seems to be running on 7 cylindre
.
I ve tested each cylindre by disconnecting the injector connector.I think that i ve found that the cylindre number one(drivers sides, closest to the front of the car) is the problem .
When i disconnect the other cylindre injector connector, the engine was still making some steady backfire. But when i unplugged the cylindre 1 injector connector the engine stop doing backfire and the car also stop smelling gas.
So what could be the problem?:
-bad plug?
-bad wire?
-bad opti?(wich i dont think so but im maybe wrong)
-Something else?
Thank you

Re: Please god wake me and nice membre help me...
You might have a bad injector - you could switch it with another injector and see if the problem moves. And check/replace that plug too in case it is cracked like was already mentioned. Both relatively easy checks and right up front in #1 where you can get to it.

But 2 weeks ago my car was running perfectly with pretty worn parts. Also if my injector was faulty i would not get any gas smell? No?
Thank you
