Platinum or not platinum

I'm running platinum spark plug, but somebody told me that platinum plugs are not good for high compression engines, due that the electrode gets warmer than standar plugs and may cause an early spark, is this true?.
which spark plugs do you recommend for engines running nitrous

The general consensus is you should run a NGK TR6 gapped at .035 for N20
