piston hitting valves ?

Exclamation piston hitting valves ?

ok my timming chain broke and bent a few of my valves and pushrods and i was thinking would the piston hitting the valve mess up the rod bearings or would those be ok or should i just cheak them to see if i need to change them ?

The rod bearings should be fine, but it's possible depending on rpm when it broke for the pistons to have been cracked if you still have cast ones in there.

yeah if it were me i would want to pull the heads to inspect

might as well throw a stock replacement timming chain on there, that way you wont have to worry about it breaking again

I would look for the reason that the timing chain broke. When you installed the Hot Cam did you trim its dowel pin to fit your 93 timing cover?

I though that the only way you could get valve to piston contact in these engines was with flat or domed pistons and a high lift cam? Are these interference engines?

At first, people thought they weren't, until timing sets broke and reports of PTV contact started showing up. And I have no proof of this, just going off what I have read/heard.

My chain snapped and the same thing happened, i was running an S.A. Gear timing set with dished pistons and still had ptv contact when it broke. Bent 6 valves....
