pilot bearing install question

when installing a pilot bearing is it okay to have the bearing go further in than the lip of the crank shaft by a little bit or does it have to be completly flush. i also purchased a kevlar bearing because i had destroyed a summit roller bearing and a recently installed copper bearing which where both greased up. the last bearing went out after a track day that i did.

I'd want it to be flush, but i doubt it would hurt anything if it was a little past.

Kevlar? Never knew one existed. Seems like that could crack. I'd just stick with a solid brass bushing... but I'm no expert.
