My 1st LT1 plug wire change change! You can do it!
Well A few days back after feeling my M6 Z running a little rough and gettingk kinda crappy gas mileage i decided i was gonna get a tune up. At 1st i thought about waiting until I get my headers done so i can get new plugs put in then but decided i had a few things to take care of on my A4 Z. I got quotes from $200- to over $500 at a chevy dealer. I could of paid it but i was like damn I hate to give money away. I have done alot of maintaince on LT1 cars over the years radiators, wiring of headlights most all of bolt ons but i heard how ugly spark plug/wire changes are in LT1s. Well guess what My 1st time ever i did it in 2 hours flat and that was at a slow pace. I did the drivers side from the bottom and the passenger side from the top. I heard other people do it the other way around but this worked easier for me. I used a socket extension on the 1st plug on passenger side near the alternator and also on the far rear passenger plug. I hope that this could help some of you out that kinda skeptical because of the rumors. Im gonna do my A4 Z soon Hopefully i will be able to do it within a hr this time

I don't get it; 3 follow-up post are fore warnings regarding the wires and one is about changing the plugs.
It sounds like he did both the wires and the plugs in two hours flat at a leisurely pace or am I reading his post wrong?
Any way, this a winter project for me. Should I invest in the SLP F-body cut down plug socket with the hex drive drilled out?
Summit's price is $22 but it looks like something I can make from a regular spark plug socket on a lathe....
Regards

ive seen that slp thing and it looks like it would help alot. yea your rite... his post is kind of confusing because he says plug/wire change, but only talks about plugs, and besides i think its imposible to do both in 2 hours your first time, plugs are easy, they took me a hour the first time, but i did otvc wires and just cut the old ones to get them out and it took me like 4 hours
