Black box is ASR (traction control). It's connected to the throttle cable.

That is what that is..My SS did not(or as I recall none of the SS cars in 97)came with traction control. I just have never seen the traction cotrol box,or knew what it looks like. Thanks......

Took me a while...I just worked on it an hour here and there so I didn't get so damn stressed. Probably a total of 8 hours total including removal of the old wires and installation/crimping/cutting of the new ones. It wasn't too bad but if you don't grease those damn boots up, they are a total PITA!!!

Thanks guys!!

The opti ends SUCKED!!!! The first one I tried, I didn't use any sort of lube and it was impossible. After that I was lubing them too much and when I went to push them onto the opti, the boot would slide back!!! By the time I got to the passenger side, I knew what I was doing and the passenger side went MUCH quicker!!!

When I first tried to start the car it started and was running like crap and then I heard something rubbing!!! I shut the car off and found the battery wire rubbing on the belt. Luckily, it didn't break the insulation. I was just glad that one of my plug wires wasn't rubbing!!! Then it wouldn't start after that!!!! Well, turns out I mixed the #3 and #5 plug wires around. ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PLUG WIRE LOCATIONS!!!!

Thanks for the compliments!!

Thumbs up

Looks Good. I want OTVC wires now! You need to scrap the traction control though.

Oh trust me, I want to scrap the POS!!! I have heard that it takes a new ABS module and new wheel sensors or something along those lines and they are just too damn expensive for the time being. Plus I would need to get it programmed out of the computer (which I will have access to in a couple months). That is the next thing that I am going to randomly remove out of my engine compartment.
