Thumbs up Pics of my project LT1 NO ROTOR

Well the last time I drove my car, the rotor fragged inside the opti. Unfortunately I was crossing the finish line at the time so the engine stalled going 115 mph!

I built my new 383 using the LTCC ignition and completely removed the plastic rotor from the opti.

I modified my LT4 valve covers to hold 8 LS1 coils, and moved the oil filler hole to the driver's side.

It all went in through the bottom

Still breaking in the engine ... about 50 miles so far!

That looks good. Nice way of doing the wires for easy maintenance. Like that tranny cover too. I take it you didn't have any problems w/ the firewall/tranny tunnel when putting the engine back in? Where did you get the cover?

That is some really nice work there, everything looks great! I'm down at WPB with work occasionally, so I'll have to get with you next time I'm there and look over your car.

Also, last time I was at WPB (this past summber) I stopped by MMP to check-out a Wednesday T-n-T. They had to call the event becasue the timing system wouldn't work.

Thanks!
The cover is from Exotic Muscle. They usually install them on LS1's, but I got it to work pretty good with my LT1, once they added some length to the straps. I didn't have any trouble getting it to fit in the tranny tunnel, but it's sandwiched in there so tight, I don't see how you can install one without dropping the trans and motor down!

I haven't raced at Moroso since February, but as soon as I finish breaking in the new motor, I'll be there trying to gobble up some of this cool winter air! PM me if you come to town!

Heck yes! It's running great! I've been pretty gentle with it so far, only about 50 miles, but I can tell it's strong! I'm also really happy with the Street Twin clutch. It was smooth as butter from the very first time I used it. My old Spec stage3 chattered like an earthquake for the first 3 months!

do you have any more info on how you made the ls1 coil setup work? I'd really like to ditch the opti if possible

You guys just don't go to the track often enough I guess! Too much other fun stuff to do in South Florida; like golf, water skiing and off-shore fishing! Can't stand that stuff!
