Yeah I would totally recommend it as well. Burn off as much as you can with the old ones then have the others ready once they go.

Kooks makes some great headers...I run the stepped 1 3/4-1 7/8 on my car and they really helps the low end, but gained nothing over my LPE 1 5/8" shorties on the dyno...At the track, where it counts, I got almost 2 mph and .15 in ET...Every little bit helps...

Sounds like a good idea to run the old sensors for a little bit, also I got them from Tbryne Motorsports. They where offering free jet hot coating for christmas, so the coating did not cost me anything. They sent me the y-pipe right away and the headers went to Jet Hot then to me. I just got them last week.

Also to the other guys using Kooks, how do you like the gaskets they give you? The ones I got I have never seen before, they are XX carbon gaskets and have a "furry" texture and feel like felt. The package says that they are made by Percys for Kooks. I just hope they don't leak, anyways thanks again and let me know if you have any more questions.

Oh, these are going on a 96 (for 2tight)

Jesus those look good.........for sheer spooge factor alone makes them worthwhile. Whenever I buy nice looking parts, I fondle them until I put them on.

Those look very nice. Are Kooks considered the premier header for the LT1? Is there a performance advantage compared to other headers?

Only making 300hp with the cc503 sounds kind of low. I think you will greatly benefit from a tune as well.
