Pic's of my new headers.

I'll be writing about the entire install later. Until then check out the musical instrument on the driver side. BTW... The headers are Pace Setter coated shorties. They really changed the way the car sounds.

Enjoy.

Interesting, that drivers side looks pretty twisted. I just ordered a set from Jet Hot and am expecting them any day so was interested what they look like, now I know. How were they to install? I will be VERY interested to hear the details and any tips or tricks you discovered. Jet hot claims they are very similar to the Hookers, from the looks of that driver side I would not agree, the Hookers look cleaner. (are those 1 5/8" or 1 3/4" primaries on yours?)
Did you get to do any before and after Dynos or track runs? Please let me know how happy you are or are not because I may send mine back when they get here.

Thanks

I would say by looking at the drivers side pic they are dual cat headers that is why they look diff to you 93Z4ME.

They are dual cat shorties. 1 5/8" primaries. I live in Las Vegas and they do emissions here. I don't think they do a visual inspection of the cats but I'm not sure of that. I haven't paid attention. Also I'm in the Air Force and may end up stationed in an area that definately does a visual inspection.

As for how they are to install. I'll write something up when I hget the chance. It was pretty much a PITA. We had to do a few mods to the headers to get them to work. The biggest being drilling out the EGR hook up to get the EGR tube to fit on the hole. Had to get a 5/8" counter sink bit from Home Depot to get that one to work. The second biggest problem was that the passenger side extension tube didn't line up with the y-pipe. It was offset by at least 2 inches. We tries to get a solid pipe to fit but no luck. I ended up getting some 2.25" flex exhaust pipe from Checker to make the connection work. It also took several clamps to get it to seal. I'll live with it until I get a new y-pipe somewhere on down the road.

The exhaust tone really sounds good. More manly!!! Also don't have any exhaust leaks (knock on wood) yet! I bought some new gaskets (Mr. Gasket) from Autozone for $11 bucks.

Plug access is better than stock. The dipstick may be in the way of the #6 spark plug. I may have to remove it to change that one in the future. Plug wires didn't need to be moved at all. Haven't burnt on up (knock on wood) yet.

Would I do it all again? I don't know. It was a shload of work. I would give myself more time to work on this project. And I would most likely pay the extra money for a better set of headers. I let you guys know how they work in the long run.

Well this went on longer than I thought it would. I'm happy to answer anymore questions.

There was definately a seat of the pants gain. I would stay away from Pacesetter. I had to replace them because of the collector leaking. The new ones they sent diddn't fit right either. Had to do some welding and filing on them. Spend a few extra bucks and go with BBK's or something.

You should get a gain with the single cat headers as well. I've had them for a little over two years now. I think I picked up 1.5 and 2 MPH in the 1/4 with them.

Harpoon Flyby,
Can you let me know how emissions goes? I'll be PSCsing to Nellis in Dec-Jan time frame and I'm kinda worried about passing. I think I may end up having to get a cat, mines is gutted right now.
