pics of my (home)ported heads

http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/iro...ss86/my_photos

what do ya think? goin to get them flowed before I install them. anyone got any constructive criticism? what has everyone done to match the exh. ports up? the gasket (1406 felpro) is wayyy huge. so far, I tried not to alter the port exit shape. the intake is port matched to the gasket, (so is the intake mann.) I have no idea how much time i have invested in them at this time, since Ive been doin it on my free time at work (slow days = nothing to do) Id have to guess at maybe 15hours? anyone know where to get the fine paper rolls for makeing the exh. side really shiny? its smooth now, but I wanted to make the exh. side really smooth.

chris

Here is a link that may help you out. Click on the head porting. http://members.***.net/gmarengo/

If using the 1406 as a template, don't take it all the way down to the bottom floor. Leave about 1/4" or you will break into water.

Good luck,
Mike

ok, figured it out. went to "edit album info" and made it public. it was on private by default when I made the album. should work now.

Work looks pretty good. If you plan to add a good sized cam, you could take out quite a bit more in the bowl and port roof for the intakes. Not sure what your intentions are with the car though so they may be fine for your application.

hey thanks for the link. that site is awesome. great pics. maybe I'll go back in and raise the roof (make it flat) and take down the guide boss's a little more.

I have a 233/239 .570lift cam. the car will be a fun toy only. not a daily driver. how much do you think the flow will very from his readings w/o doin the intake roofs?

The difference could be as much as 20cfm or more. On a stock cammed motor it wouldn't make a whole lot of difference, but with the cam you're planning, it will. That is not my website, but that is my write-up and head pics. George Merengo (aka Nuke61 on this board) is hosting it for me. I'd be glad to help you offline (email) if you need any specific advice.
