pics of dual exhaust on passenger side
ok....here are some pics for those who had asked me for them.
the piping is 3" mandrel, and the mufflers are 18" sweet thunder chambered mufflers.
they are way too short for this setup. the car is too loud and lost a lot of low end torque from too much flow i guess.
it looks like there is enough room behind my xpipe to cut off the rest, and just weld in the 30" sweet thunders. that should quiet things down a to a more daily driver friendly level.
total cost was $150 + the price of the mufflers.
later i will weld some fake exhaust tips in the rear of the car, because transam's look weird without tips.
anyway, here are the pics
bottom view notice, because i put the pipes both on the passenger side, they wont intefere an aftermarket torque arm, and get great ground clearance.
side view ....i put in a blue line extending from my passenger side header (its lower than the driver side) to show that the exhaust doesnt go much lower than the header collector, hardly an inch at most
showing where i grinded the tranny crossmember to gain clearance with 3" pipe
another from a diff angle

Looks good. Are you going to put turn downs on it?Only thing is I think my clearance is better than that.

the pic is at an angle, but the clearance is pretty good considering what ive got.
if we took more time and bends, there is a lot of room in the driveshaft tunnel, we can tuck it up there higher, but didnt bother with the hassle.
Aww, don't do that man! I understand what you mean about the car looking weird and all, but isn't that kind of a ricer-ish thing to do?
it looks so ghetto with the rear having those two big empty areas where the tips are supposed to be.

I bet you'll get some crazy looks from people wondering why a car with stock exhaust sounds so nasty!

the rest of the stuff was provide at the custom exhaust shop, i wish i could have used 2.5" mandrel, but all he had was 3". its really too big for this size engine, but oh well, the interior diameter of the mufflers is 2.5"
