Pertinent info for ppl who want to add true duals.

While I didn't add "true duals" to my LT1 car I figured I pass a little info on here.

With all the talk about duals over the axle or dumped under the cab, I want this thread to be stumbled on by people reading the board today or searching in the future.

Here's my cool info.
I just went from shorty headers to long tube headers. Well, I run dual exhaust, and modified it when I added the long tube headers. I added mandrel bent head pipes WITH AN H-PIPE and reused the same mufflers and converters. My point, you wouldn't believe how much quieter the h-pipe made it! I expected a gain in noise from the freer flowing exhaust, but the H canceled that out and made it much more subdued.

No need to comment to this post. I just want it in the archieves. I read this information before, but never thought it would make such a significant difference. Later went on to read where where a BBC Vette went from true duals and stock manifolds to super comps with a H and it was quieter with the full exhaust and 60 more rwhp.

If you're looking to add more flow on your street LT1 car and keep it quiet. Be sure to put an H or X in your exhaust.
